Just a couple of taps and there is the scanner app right on your home screen.
The scanner is a Progressive Web App (PWA). A PWA is a web-based app that behaves like a native mobile app, without needing to be downloaded from an app store. Once added to your home screen, it opens instantly and runs in full screen, just like a regular app.
Why this matters: Because it’s a PWA, the scanner works across all devices and browsers, making it highly compatible with both iOS and Android. There’s no app store installation, updates happen automatically, and it takes up very little storage so you always have fast, reliable access with a single tap.
Open Safari on your iPhone
Go to the scanner app URL

Open the Share menu
On newer iOS versions, tap the three dots (•••) and then tap Share
On older iOS versions, tap the Share icon directly
Tap “Add to Home Screen.”
Confirm the app name
If available, make sure “Open as a Web App” is turned ON.
Tap Add in the top-right corner.
Done! 🎉The scanner app now appears on your home screen and opens like a native app.
Open Chrome on your Android device
(PWAs are best installed using Chrome)
Go to the scanner app URL
Open the browser menu
Tap the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
Tap “Add to Home screen”
On some devices, this may appear as “Install app.”
Confirm the app name
Then tap Add or Install when prompted.
